Sin embargo, las cruzas intervarietales de maiz, es una alternativa para que el agricultor obtenga mas grano, dado que las cruzas tienen genes de poblaciones nativas seleccionadas de la region y valoradas en diversas localidades y anos bajo condiciones de suelo plano, lomerio, ladera, ambientes semicalidos; es decir, estas cruzas intervarietales de maiz prosperan en condiciones de suelos de bajo, mediano a alto potencial productivo, compiten en rendimiento de grano y otras caracteristicas agronomicas con maices hibridos de Pioneer, Dekalb, Asgrow, Aspros, Ceres, Semillas Rica, entre otros hibridos.
